Ingredients
  • 9" Pie crust. See my homemade piecrust from scratch recipe.
  • PRALINE FILLING:
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans.
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar.
  • 3 Tbs. soft butter, softened.
  • PUMPKIN FILLING:
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten.
  • 1/2 cup white sugar.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar.
  • 1 Tbs. flour.
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon.
  • 1/2 tsp. salt.
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg.
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger.
  • 2 cups cooked pumpkin puree (fresh if you can, unsipced canned if you must, see my recipe for easy homemade if you will).
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk.

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 450F.
  2. Crust prep:
  3. Prick pie shell sides with fork.
  4. Combine praline filling ingredients and press into bottom of unbaked pie shell.
  5. Bake in 450' oven for 10 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove and cool on rack for 5 minutes.
  7. Reduce oven temp. to 350F.
  8. Pie filling:
  9. Mix together eggs, sugars, flour, salt and spices.
  10. Blend in pumpkin.
  11. Gradually add milk.
  12. Pour into 9-inch baked, cooled pie shell.
  13. Bake @ 350F for 55 minutes.

Love the combination of praline and pumpkin...delicious. Now that pie crust was revelation...something I've always had trouble with, I appreciate the effort and time in a real homemade crust.
