Yet another recipe Mom made when I was growing. Tastes very much like a Cherry Mash Candy bar.
Needs to set up in fridge, and kept refrigerated after that.

Ingredients
- 2Cups sugar
- 2/3 Cups evaporated milk
- dash of salt
- 12 regular marshmallows
- 1/2 Cup butter
- 6 oz. package cherry baking chips
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- *TOPPING*
- 12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 3/4 Cup chunky peanut butter
- 1 Cup crushed salted peanuts
Directions
- In a saucepan combine the sugar, evaporated milk, salt, marshmallows and 1/2 cup butter over medium heat.
- Boil 5 minutes and remove from heat.
- Add cherry chips and vanilla, stir until melted.
- Pour into a buttered 9x13 inch pan.
- Refrigerate until firm.
- Topping:
- Melt chocolate chips & butter in a double boiler, microwave or saucepan.
- When chocolate is melted stir in peanut butter & crushed salted peanuts until combined.
- Spread over cherry mixture and chill.
- Cut into bars when firm.
- Keep refrigerated.

This is a candy I grew up with. Everytime we went back to Missouri my mom would buy a couple of cases to take home. For us that was all over as my dad was in the Air Force. Great Idea for Christmas gifts.

I made this candy for a big open house that I gave and people went nuts! Since we are all about the same age, we remembered eating this candy as kids. It was a big success! The only problem was finding the cherry chips, but after when I did, it was lovely!
