Ingredients
- 8 - 10 chicken pieces
- 3 Tbsps. butter or margarine
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- a good dash of Tobasco sauce or 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 large can whole or diced tomatoes
- 1 small can sliced mushrooms, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
Directions
- Rince chicken and pat dry.
- In skillet, melt butter and brown chicken quickly on both sides.
- Place chicken in crockpot.
- Stir together the remaining ingredients in a large bowl (except cream) and pour over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
- Just before serving stir in the cream.
- Serve over hot egg noodles or pasta of your choice.
- Serves 6 to 8.

This sounds terrific :) I plan to try it next week sometime. I like to use chicken thighs for this type of dish as they seem to have a bit more flavor than the breasts.
