Golden Onion Soup Recipe

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter

2 thinly sliced onions

3/4 tsp thyme

fresh ground pepper to taste

1 Tbs. flour 2 cups water

1/2 cup dry wine (changing wines changes flavor)

2 Tbs. soy sauce

1 Tbs. honey

1/4 heaping cup shredded swiss cheese

Directions

melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat

add onions thyme and season with pepper

cover and lower heat to low and cook very slowly till onions are translucent,stirring occasionally,about 20-25 minutes

cook unti they are brown and well carmilized

add flour to onions and stir until browned( don't burn) scraping bottom for about 5 minutes

add water,wine,soy sauce and honey.

bring to a boil and reduce heat to a very slow simmer and cook till slightly thickened, about 1 1/2 hours

add swiss cheese ,stir until melted and serve with crusty bread

Y'know I've heard somewhere that eating onions makes your skin soft. My five yr old loves them!
