Ingredients

1 package of bacon, cooked to a crisp

1 head of fresh broccoli, just the florets

1/4 cup of red onion, chopped (optional)

1/2 cup raisins

1/4 cup of sunflower seeds

1 cup of mayonnaise

1/2 cup of white sugar

3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

Directions

Place bacon in a large skillet, cook until crispy. Drain on paper towel, crumble and set aside.

Chop broccoli florets into bite size pieces. In a medium mixing bowl, combine broccoli with the red onions, raisins, crumbled bacon and sunflower seeds.

In a small bowl, wisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar and sugar. Pour over broccoli mixture and toss until well combined.

Refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.

I have never had the Walmart version, so I am not sure. I have tried various recipes for this salad...all just a little different. Some people add shredded cheddar cheese, others use more mayo, or different vinegars, etc.

I would suggest halving the dressing or using more of the salad ingredients. I had broccoli "swimming" in dressing at the bottom of the bowl. The taste of this salad is wonderful!
