Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In med. saucepan, melt margarine, stir in flour and salt. Add milk, cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly. Stir in cheeses and potatoes.
  • Pour into a 2 qt casserole or individual casserole dishes. Combine bread crumbs and melted margarine/butter, sprinkle over potatoes.
  • Bake covered for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until bubbly and potatoes tender.
  • Garnish with chopped chives if desired.

    Made these tonight, just added some italian 6 cheese, fresh garlic cheese and a little Gjetost cheese (a brown sweet cheese from Norway). It was fantastic, thank you for such a tasty post. :) My kids loved it!

    I made this tonight for dinner it was a BIG hit. My husband loved it! I did use one cup of heavy whipping cream and one cup of whole milk. I will try it with just whole milk next time to see if there is a differance. Thanks for the recipe...yummy!
