Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe

Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe
Add Step-by-Step Photos

This recipe is my version of an old-fashioned cocktail that was popular in the 40's and 50's. It's not for you if you don't like whiskey! When I complete this post I am going into the kitchen, hope I have an orange and make one of these!

My parents used to drink Old Fashion(ed). Can't drink right now cause of meds I'm on but will save this. Thanks!

Oh my gosh you have just brought back a flood of wonderful memories. Thanks Conner, well done!

This is one of my favorites every once in awhile.
It gives you something just a little bit different than a plain Whiskey and Coke.

Excellent post. :)
This is also great with Jim Beam. :)

You know Conner, back in the day, my parents often had and served this exact drink. Now, believe-it-or-not I have never tried one but after reading your post, I'm going to now. It's a wee bit early in the day but come afternoon, hubby and I will be sitting back and enjoying this golden oldy. Cheers!!!
P.S. I love SirShawn's pic :)

Hi Conner, you know I just had to check out your cocktail after you mentioned it and anything with JD in it is right up my alley. This cocktail sounds gorgeous and I'm bookmarking it for when the sun's a lot lower *grin* Hmmm, maybe we should start a "We love Jack" group LMAO

Yup, one of the classic drinks....my mom made scotch old fashions....with J&B. First grown up cocktail I ever had. What a memory.

I was just telling my son about this drink last month. (He was having a Jack and water) Good Drink! And dana, I'd join that "Group" I Love J.D.

You should join the "monthly contest" group and enter this recipe in the "December Cocktail" competition :-)

My goodness, after all these years.. I never knew what was in Mom's drink LOL I will have to try this one. Many Thanks.. brought back some great memories for me as well. I will call Mom tomorrow and tell her I got the skinny on her Ol' Fashion :) I am sure she will be delighted. (She is 87 and going strong) Must be all those Ol' Fashioned's she used to drink.

Looks like this is right up my ally!

Cheers!
