Candied Pecans Recipe
I make this 'recipe' to add to salads. Many a salad recipe calls for candied nuts and this one is good and easy and really adds a great flavor to salads.

Ingredients
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups pecan halves (8 to 9 ounces)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 300F.
  2. Brush large rimmed baking sheet with butter.
  3. Whisk egg white in bowl until foamy.
  4. Add sugar, spices, and salt.
  5. Whisk until mixture is thick and opaque.
  6. Add pecans; stir until coated.
  7. Using forks, transfer nuts to sheet, spacing apart;
  8. discard remaining coating.
  9. Bake nuts until deep golden brown, about 35 minutes.
  10. Cool completely on sheet.
  11. Transfer to container; cover and store at room temperature.
  12. (Can be made 4 days ahead.)

Sounds like another recipe I need to try... Love pecans....


I make the pecans using a family recipe, on Christmas. I love Pecans! I will try this one for sure!
