Hot Jalapeno Jam Recipe
This is an unusual jam but mix it with sour cream and it is an interesting makings for a dip.

Ingredients
  • 12 jalepeno peppers, seeded and halved
  • 2 tomatoes
  • boiling water
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green apple
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions
  1. Arrange pepper halves on a broiler pan; broil until skins are blackened.
  2. Remove; cover with a towel and set aside until cool.
  3. Slice an "X" in the base of both tomatoes; place in a small bowl and cover with boiling water for 2 minutes.
  4. Drain and cool.
  5. Peel and discard skins from peppers and tomatoes; finely chop peppers and tomatoes.
  6. Combine with remaining ingredients in a heavy saucepan; heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  7. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heart and simmer for 30 minutes.
  8. Store, covered in a refrigerator for up to one month.
