Ingredients

How to make it

  • Melt butter in saucepan
  • Add onion, carrot, and cabbage and cook until tender
  • Whisk together milk and flour
  • Stir into onion mixture
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly(about 5 minutes)
  • Over low heat, add cheese gradually, stirring constantly (DO NOT BOIL)
  • Stir in beer and linguica
  • Heat through

    This sounds like a perfect winter warmer-upper. Thanks for the great post.

    I've never looked for Portuguese sausage. Is it available in most meat markets?
