Brussel Sprouts With Pecan Butter Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb. brussel sprouts,trimmed and an x cut into the base of each sprout

2Tbs. extra virgin olive oil

1Tbs unsalted butter

1/4c chopped pecans

salt and fresh ground pepper

pinch of brown sugar

Directions

In a steamer set over boiling water,stream Brussel sprouts,covered 7-8 mins,until just tender. Drain under cold running water to stop them from cooking.(you can do this step 1 day in advance)

In large skillet,heat oil and butter. Add nuts;cook over medium heat until golden brown. Add sprouts,salt ,pepper and sugar. Saute 1 to 2 minutes,until heated through!

We LOVE brussels sprouts. Many years ago when I had a huge garden and would plant cabbage, I would pick the big cabbage and let the little ones grow out the whatever. Anyway, tasted like sprouts. I always have sprouts in my kitchen!!!!!!
