Velveeta Velvet Recipe

Velveeta Velvet Recipe
I cannot take credit for this, my mother gave it to me and I am not sure where she got it from. All I can say is don't knock it until you try it and give it to your friends and don't tell them what it is made from and see if they like it!! :) Ren... More

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 4 lbs. confectioners' sugar
  • 1 c. cocoa
  • 2 1/2 c. chopped walnuts or your desire
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla

Directions
  1. In a 5 quart non-stick pan or Double Boiler add Velveeta and Butter, stir frequently until melted. When melted add the vanilla and stir.
  2. Next add confectioners' sugar, cocoa, nuts and vanilla stir until mixed
  3. Pour into buttered or foil lined 9"x13" oblong pan, spread evenly and chill until cool.
  4. Cut and serve.
  5. (I usually do not add the nuts and it is possible to melt the cheese and butter and then pour that immediately into a bowl containing the confectioners' sugar, nuts and cocoa.)

Sounds delicious

That sounds pretty wild! I thought the only thing velveeta was goodfor is hanging wallpaper! LOL I will try it though! Thanks!

Hehehe wallpaper, I never thought about that! I have made this fudge several times and everyone loves it. When I first was given the recipe, I thought are you sure, Velveeta??? But it is awesome.

Wow. I'll give this a try just 'cause it's different. Thanks.

It sounds unusual but this makes really good fudge. My mom used to make it, too, from time to time. I think Paula Deen has also done a version of this as well. Great post - welcome to Group Recipes! ~ Vickie

I had this recipe, lost it and have been searching for it for a couple of years. Thank you for posting it. My life is complete again:)

You are welcome!! I told my friends about it the other day and they are scared!! I told them that they have to try it!! It is the don't knock and 'til you try type of thing!! :) (as I said above!!)

I once heard of this recipe and here it is.

Everyone- This stuff is AWESOME. I know that it sounds strange but it is addictive. Yummm.

I will try ASAP..... It does sound slightly intimidating, but I won't shy away. Does it taste ultra cheesy?

P.S. You have my 5!

:) Thank you for the 5 and no it is not ultra cheesy. I think that it makes it creamy... Let me know how you like it!! :)

Thank you Skyduchess! I am hoping that people will try it!! And yes addictive. When I make it, everyone just loves it!

Consider joining the new Velveeta group!

I'm going to have to make this when Jeff isn't home and then not tell him what it is! It sounds bizarre, I do love me some Velveeta cheese - and with chocolate....

I talked about this recipe on a radio show that I do and got the same shocked responses! Now I have to try it and tell the audience about it!

Nice!! markeverett :)... I really hope that you like it. It is bizarre, however really good. Let me know what you think!

What radio show do you do?

Okay. I threw my skepticism (and the ridicule of friends) out the window and tried this today. I couldn't wait for it to cool before tasting it I was SUPER curious. It's AMAZING! I won't make fudge any other way, now. Thanks again!!!

I gave some of this to one of our good friends tonight. He loved it. He said you should rename it, though. He thought "Velveeta Velvet" would be a good name :) I told him I would pass on his suggestion.
Thanks again!

In honor of him, the name has been changed hehehe :), Awesome of you to share. :) Thanks Mark...
