Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs ground beef

1 medium yellow onion chopped

2 t minced garlic

2 T extra virgin olive oil

2 pats of butter

3 cups of water

4 boullion cubes (I used chicken..what I had on hand)

canned veggies (your choice mix and match, whatever you have on hand)

I used:

stewed tomatoes with juice

peas-drained

green beans-drained

sliced new potatoes-drained

carrots-drained

(here is where I would've added corn, but had run out)

SEASONINGS:

steak seasoning

2 bay leaves-dried

1 t thyme-dried (crush up in your palm for more flavor)

salt and pepper of course

Directions

In skillet brown ground beef, sprinkle with steak seasoning

In large pot heat extra virgin olive oil with the butter, throw in onion and garlic, saute till soft.

Drain ground beef and add to onion & garlic, pour in tomoatoes, water, bouillion

Bring to boil then lower to simmer, add remaining veggies, bay leaves, thyme, and some more steak seasoning

Let simmer 30 min or more

Serve with biscuits, cornbread, crackers...or whatever floats your boat.. :)

*Note-you can either fish out the bay leaves or leave them in and whoever gets them is the 'lucky' one. Just make sure nobody tries to eat them. lol

We call this dump stew usually made in a dutch oven over a campfire. so i uaually used a stew seasoning packet or a pkg. of brown gravy mix.
