This is an old Southern recipe that takes banana pudding to a new level. It is worth the eeffort.

What do you layer this in - a footed compote bowl, 2 qt. something... ? I am trying to envision quantity to consider what I'd make this in. MY husband would really like this.
Thanks

You can layer it in just about anything. Remember, it's refrigerated after layering, so no further cooking is required. Some use a nice see-thru bowl or for a pfretty presentation you can even use a nice cut glass bowl. Something that holds about 3 quarts should do it. a Corning Ware casserole also works. Get enough depth for the layering. Also, the number of banans and vanilla wafers is up to you. Some like more bananas (I do) and some like more wafers, which make it less of a custard. Enjoy.
