How to make it

  • Blend ground beef with cottage cheese, egg and salt. Divide int four portions and shape into large patties.
  • Heat butter in skillet. Add onions. Saute over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until onions are transparent and cooked but not browned. Remove from pan. Keep warm.
  • Saute beef patties 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until meat is done to your liking.
  • Add onions to pan to reheat; then arrange on serving dish, dividing onions between the meat patties. Serve immediately

    I saw your recipe and just happen to have ground beef out for dinner and cottage cheese in the fridge so I made this and we just finished eating. everyone loved it, they were really moist and the onions on top were the perfect touch. Thanks for the great post.

    I agree, hayleesgrandma - I've never thought to add cottage cheese to my burgers, but I imagine it would add a nice moistness to the meat. I will have to give this a try - always nice to do something different with ground beef...thanks!
