Ingredients

1 lb. extra lean ground beef

2/3 cup low fat creamed cottage cheese

1 egg

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

2 medium onions, sliced

Directions

Blend ground beef with cottage cheese, egg and salt. Divide int four portions and shape into large patties.

Heat butter in skillet. Add onions. Saute over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until onions are transparent and cooked but not browned. Remove from pan. Keep warm.

Saute beef patties 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until meat is done to your liking.

Add onions to pan to reheat; then arrange on serving dish, dividing onions between the meat patties. Serve immediately

I agree, hayleesgrandma - I've never thought to add cottage cheese to my burgers, but I imagine it would add a nice moistness to the meat. I will have to give this a try - always nice to do something different with ground beef...thanks!
