Sloppy Joes Recipe
Everyone has their own version of this simple dish. I love this as a quick supper or lunch with fries!

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of mustard
  • 3/4 cup of ketchup
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • salt & pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Brown the ground beef, onion & bell pepper in a heavy pot or skillet
  2. Drain
  3. Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup and brown sugar & seasoning
  4. Lower the heat & simmer for about 30 mins.
  5. serve on hamburger buns and enjoy!

I totally love Sloppy Joe's. My neighbors across the street at my old house about 1962 made sloppy joes and they steamed the buns, laid each half on the plate and they covered them with the mixture. SOOOOOOOOOOO good. The one thing they added was Campbells Tomato and Rice soup. Just killer stuff. I think I could eat Sloppy Joes 2-3 times a week on steam buns, ohhhhhhhh yea! JJ
