Texas Chicken

- 2 lbs. chicken drumsticks, thighs, or wings shopping list
- 6 tbls. chili powder shopping list
- 4 tsp. cumin shopping list
- 2 cups chili sauce, bottled shopping list
- 1/2 cup dark molasses shopping list
- 6 tbls. cider vinegar shopping list
- 4 tbls. orange juice shopping list
- 4 tsp. orange peel shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Set grill, either indoor or outdoor to medium high heat
- Season with salt and generous amount of pepper
- Grill for 10 minutes or so, turning occasionally
- In saucepan put chili powder and cumin over medium heat for about a minute to toast
- Mix in chili sauce, molasses, cider vinegar, orange juice and peel
- Reduce heat to medium low and simmer until sauce slightly thickens( about 5 minutes)
- Split sauce in half
- With 1 half, brush chicken and continue to cook for another 15 minutes or so until chicken is crisp and brown, turning occasionally
- Serve chicken with other half of sauce
