Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup butter for top
- 1 cup grits(regular)
- 1 cup grated guyere cheese
- 1 cup parmesan cheese grated
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepepr
Directions
- Bring milk to a boil
- Add 1/2 cup butter, gradually stir in grits
- Cook and stir until thick
- Remove from heat and add salt & pepper
- Beat with mixer at high speed until creamy
- Pour into ungreased casserole 13 x 9 x 2 and allow to set in refrigerator overnight
- When ready to bake, cut into squares and place like fallen dominoes in greased casserole
- Pour 1/3 cup melted buttter over squares and sprinkle with grated cheeses
- Bake at 400 degrees F for 35 minutes.
- Serves 6

- Don't substitute grits for oats in a recipe.....it just don't work like that
