Herbed Strip Steak With Balsamic Sauce

- 1/2 Tbs. cracked black pepper shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp. oregano, crushed shopping list
- 1 tsp. garlic powder shopping list
- 2 boneless beef Top Loin (Strip) steaks, cut 3/4-inch thick (about 8 oz. each) shopping list
- 1 Tbs. olive oil shopping list
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar shopping list
- 1/4 cup beef broth shopping list
- 1 Tbs. butter or whipping cream shopping list
- 1/4 cup snipped fresh parsley shopping list
How to make it
- For rub, in a small bowl stir together pepper, basil, oregano, and garlic powder.
- Use your fingers to apply the rub mixture to both aides of steaks.
- In a heavy large skillet cook steaks in hot oil over medium heat to desired doneness, turning once. (Allow 8 to 11 minutes for medium-rare and 12 to 14 minutes to medium doneness.)
- Remove steaks from skillet, reserving drippings in the skillet.
- Keep Steaks warm.
- For sauce, carefully add balsamic vinegar and beef broth to drippings in skillet, scraping up brown bits. Bring to boiling. Boil gently, uncovered, 4 minutes or until sauce is reduced by half.
- Remove from heat; stir in butter.
- To serve, slice steaks. Divide sauce among four plates.
- Top sauce with steak slices and sprinkle with parsley.
