Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix all ingredients together and spread on Lamb See Photo. Marinate overnight.
  • Place on grill on medium heat, fat side first.
  • Grill about 30 minutes per side (all four of them) See Photo. Do not let it get to brown.
  • Check for doneness using a meat thermometer See Photo. Should be medium at least.
  • Remove from grill, let it rest for about 15 minutes then carve and serve. See Photo

    Damn, I had to research "Plonk". Now I have a better understanding. According to the dictionary "plonk" is an English slang term for cheap red wine. But now more often referred to as "wine of the people".

    I can deal with that. Although Bourbon is my libation of choice.

    Now I've had my share of lamb, old friend. I've never seen anything like this. You are going to get max results from your glaze by de-boning the roast. This calls for a really nice drop of light red plonk. Yep, the Barbe is the way to cook this. Thanks for the 5 forks post. RJ

    Went back and added some pictures I found I had not used. Also I wanted to say that I am certainly not an expert on selecting a good Lamb Roast so I order one in advance from my local butcher, not the supermarket. If he screws up I know where he lives... (evil grin)

    This is the only way I fix Lamb (soooooo good) my mother-in-law taught me how to prepare/cook Lamb when I first got married (she was Swedish) and a great cook... Roasting in the oven was her choice... hugsssssss got my 5
