Baked Almond Twists

- 2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 4 tbsp ground almonds shopping list
- 1/2 cup caster sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter,cut into pieces shopping list
- 1 egg ,beaten shopping list
How to make it
- Combine flour,ground almonds and sugar.
- Cut in cold butter till mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add egg.Work to a dough and shape a ball.
- Chill 1/2 an hour.
- Remove dough from the fridge and make small balls of dough and roll into thin cylinders.
- Twist the cylinders and place on a greased cookie sheet,leaving a little space between them.
- Bake at 170 C for about 10 - 12 minutes.
- Remove them from the oven as soon as the edges turn golden.
- Leave on the cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes to cool a bit,then delicately detatch them from the sheet.
- Leave to cool on a wire-rack.
