How to make it

  • Crumble raw (do not brown first) ground beef into the quart of water. Add all of the other ingredients.
  • Simmer uncovered for 1/2 hour.
  • Simmer for another 2 and 1/2 hours covered.
  • Stir occasionally
  • Serve on noddles with cheese(Cincinnati style) or on hot dogs for coneys either way you try you will enjoy
  • ****Not your typical texas style chili so widen your taste buds before you turn your nose up****

    This was so good! I am not supossed to eat chili... and I had a HUGE helping.. Paid for it... Had to get the Prlosec out... Worth it though... I have some left over in frig... Going to have tomorrow... Just a small one this time...

    Living out here in the Old West (Washington State), I've never had Cincinatti chili, but have always wanted to try it. Looking for an authentic recipe is difficult though, because I don't know what it's supposed to taste like! I should be able to trust your advice (and recipe), since you 'know' how it's supposed to taste. Thanks! - Natalie

    I love Cincinnati chili, but my recipe is way different. Will try this one for sure (it's easier!). Have to admit I'm skeptical about boiling the raw ground beef, but I'll take your word for it & try it!

    It's the only recipe I know that has raw hamburger being boiled in water...and it's very good!

    I always put cinnamon in our chili made with ground turkey. I won 2nd place at our church Chili-cook off and I won a huge bottle of TUMS!!
