How to make it

  • Preheat oven at 350F.
  • Cream sugar and crisco.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one.
  • Add vanilla and flour.
  • Mix well.
  • Bake in a tube pan for 1 hour.
  • Has a crusty top when done.

    I have it in the oven now. So easy to make. I remember it from my teen years . A lady that was a family friend made this for me and I loved it. I have been looking everywhere for it. Thank you so much.

    Grandmas make the best cakes, don't they?! This sounds heavenly - I'm still a Crisco user...can't beat it for many things. Fresh peaches on a slice of homemade pound cake...to die for! Thanks for sharing your family's recipe~
