I always cook extra chicken so I have it to make things throughout the week (hence my measurement). I do the same w/ roasted garlic and onions. Buckwheat groats can be hard to find so I guess you could use any other grain or even pasta. This is very ... More

This sounds very good. I'm hoping I can find the buckwheat groats so I can give this one a try. If not, I'll use regular noodles, but this sure sounds decacdent. Thanks for a great post. You ahve my 5.

I have a question, is buckwheat groats sort of like couscous? So when the buckwheat groats soak in the boiling water then you would add the cottage cheese? I'm little confused because in the directions you mix the next 3 ingredients but later the cottage mixture is seperated from the groats? Thanks so much, I really think this would be great to make.
If I can't find the groats in store, I would substitute with pasta but I want to get something that's similar to the groats. Also I'd like to clarify if the pasta should be seperated from the cottage cheese.

I love buckwheat groats! This sounds like an interesting way to used them. I've never added them to a baked casserole and I'll have to give this recipe a try.
