Dads Cookies

These cookies taste like a very well known brand that you can buy in Canada. They are called for (crushed) in my Millionaire Squares recipe. Make sure they are baked long enough to be crunchy for the Millionaire Squares recipe so that you can crush them finely!
Ingredients
- Prepare oven to 375 F. shopping list
- 1 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 tsp. soda shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups oatmeal shopping list
- 3/4 cup coconut shopping list
How to make it
- Cream shortening and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and and stir into sugar mixture. Stir in oatmeal and coconut. Roll into balls and press flat on cookie sheet with a fork. Bake at 375 F until brown.
