This is my Aunt Eth's basic Apple Crisp. I love the topping, so I use it with all my crisps. Just squished it down to one recipe with endless variations!

Ingredients
  • 4 cups fresh fruit or berries - whatever is in season & caught your eye.
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup flour sifted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions
  1. Grease/butter/spray 11x6 baking dish
  2. place fruit, sliced or whole depending on what it is, in baking dish
  3. sprinkle with cinnamon
  4. rub together, salt, flour, oats, sugar and butter.
  5. drop mixture on top of fruit.
  6. bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes

Sounds yummy, thanks for sharing... one of my favorite desserts when I was a kid and still up at the top of the list. My first husbands family called this dessert "grasshopper guts" imagine my horror the first time they told me we were having grasshopper guts for dessert... lol
