I picked up a Prime New York in LA a couple of weeks ago. Eating a prime steak is something that cannot be beat. All the marbling creates incredible flavor and tenderness. Just good stuff.

Ingredients
  • Prime New York 1 inch thick
  • Granulated onion heavy sprinkle
  • Granulated garlic
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Lawrys Seasoned Salt
  • olive oil

Directions
  1. Allow steak to reach room temperature or set out one hour before cooking.. This is because all meats are muscles and when cold the meat contracts. If you take a steak or roast directly from the refrigerator and cook it, it will be tougher than if you allow the meat to warm a bit and relax and then when cooked it will be tender.
  2. Drizzel olive oil on both sides, one side at a time. Once a side is oiled season and rub in the seasoning.
  3. Cook over a direct high heat (I use a propane BBQ), 3 minutes per side for a 1 inch thick steak.
  4. Let steak rest about 3 minutes before cutting.

Wow - not a big steak eater but that looks great!

What... no garlic? Man this does look good. I LOVE a good thick steak on the grill. And your pics are delightful. Great job.

Oh and by the way.. all four from the last pic are mine!

Hey that took a bit of photograph work to get all those shots and get them up here! Steak sounds great, but---no garlic? Lovely anyway! I wouldn't sneeze at it!--Kn0x--

I WANT this.........isn't it like $35 a pound now??? Once a year won't hurt, I guess.....

OK, I did put some granulated garlic on, I do it on every steak I cook but real heavy on the onion, great flavors. Actually I paid about 18.00 a pound at the Farmers Market on Fairfax in LA. I cook rib steak and New York, for me, I just can't beat the taste of a New York. Not bad for 4 minutes on a grill. I just about have the hang of it :-) JJ

Mmmmm, I love a properly grilled steak and your steak looks like "5" forks all the way! This is similar to how we grill our steaks and we've never had any complaints.
Cheers!!!

Oh This is PERFECT...Thanks...We Entertain Friends Alot and This is A Good Time for Steaks and I Love These, Thanks Again for This Wonderful Recipe!
