How to make it

  • Allow steak to reach room temperature or set out one hour before cooking.. This is because all meats are muscles and when cold the meat contracts. If you take a steak or roast directly from the refrigerator and cook it, it will be tougher than if you allow the meat to warm a bit and relax and then when cooked it will be tender.
  • Drizzel olive oil on both sides, one side at a time. Once a side is oiled season and rub in the seasoning.
  • Cook over a direct high heat (I use a propane BBQ), 3 minutes per side for a 1 inch thick steak.
  • Let steak rest about 3 minutes before cutting.

    Mmmmm, I love a properly grilled steak and your steak looks like "5" forks all the way! This is similar to how we grill our steaks and we've never had any complaints.

    OK, I did put some granulated garlic on, I do it on every steak I cook but real heavy on the onion, great flavors. Actually I paid about 18.00 a pound at the Farmers Market on Fairfax in LA. I cook rib steak and New York, for me, I just can't beat the taste of a New York. Not bad for 4 minutes on a grill. I just about have the hang of it :-) JJ
