Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup white corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 dozen apple slices(We love the granny smith apples!)

Directions
  1. Melt butter
  2. Add all other ingredients but vanilla
  3. Stir until thick, in double boiler over moderate heat
  4. Add vanilla
  5. Serve toffee in a chafing dish over flame
  6. Arrange bite size apple slices attractively on tray for dipping
  7. Apple slices should be cut ahead of time and placed in some Sprite for a few minutes to prevent them from browning.
