Cherry Berry Sugar Dusted Muffins

- 2 cups + 2 tablespoons all purpose flour, divided shopping list
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour shopping list
- 1 cup packed brown sugar, divided shopping list
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 can (12 fl. oz) evaporated milk shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 package (6oz) or 1 1/3 cups dried mixed cranberries, blueberries and cherries, coarsely chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease or line 18 muffin cups
- Combine 2 cups flour, whole wheat flour, 2/3 cup brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon & salt in large bowl.
- Mix evaporated milk, eggs, oil and vanilla in small bowl
- Add milk mixture to flour mixture, stir just until moistened.
- Stir in dried fruit
- Spoon into prepared muffin cups, filling 3/4 full
- Combine remaining brown sugar and remaining flour in small bowl.
- Sprinkle 1 heaping teaspoon of sugar mixture over muffin batter
- Bake for 15 - 18 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean
- Cool in pans for 5 minutes.
- Remove to wire racks to cool slightly.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
- **Muffins can be frozen up to a month. Wrap in heavy-duty foil or plastic wrap and then place in airtight container or resealable plastic bag**
