Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place Beetroots in pot and cover with water
  • Place lid on pot and bring to a boil
  • Set flame to "low" and cook for about 40 minutes
  • You know it's ready when you prod it with a fork and the fork goes in easily and the peel comes off by hand
  • Pour off water and let the beetroot cool down enough to handle
  • Peel the Beetroots. (You can use a knife but it is easiest by hand)
  • Grate them into a bowl
  • Add three crushed cloves of Garlic (not essential but it adds a lot)
  • Add 1 tablespoon of Sugar and about 1/2 a cup of Vinegar. (estimate)
  • Mix all ingredients together
  • Refrigerate for at least an hour. Even better the next day
  • SERVING SUGGESTION: Add 1 thinly sliced Onion (Onion Rings)

    sound great, you should try roasting them in a 350 oven for an hour such great toasted flavor it adds!

    I find beets too soft when they're cooked before grating, I think I'm a crunch person! Like the raw garlic and onions addition though, and the dressing looks fab! I'll try it out!
