My Beer Can Smoked Chickens Recipe

Nothin hard about this and I know there a hundred recipes for it but here is mine.

Ingredients
  • 2 whole Chickens
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic
  • A few cans of beer( 2 for the chickens, rest for you!)
  • A good Chicken rub (I use Emerald's Chicken Rub, Stubbs BBQ rub is also great)
  • Paprika
  • Lemon Pepper seasoning

Directions
  1. Wash and pat dry the Chickens
  2. Rub chickens generously inside and out with the rub, gently separate the skin and get rub in there as well and sprinkle with Lemon pepper and alittle paprika
  3. Drink 1/2 of each beer, you only want the beers 1/2 full (and I cut open the top alittle with some pliers)
  4. smash a couple of cloves of Garlic and drop into beer cans
  5. Place Chickens onto beer cans
  6. Put on Smoker and cook at approx. 225-250 degrees for about 3 hours
  7. In the water pan I put water, alittle soy sauce, a touch af balsamic Vinegar and alittle liquid Smoke
  8. And I usually use the hickory wood chips

I Love this recipe!...and...I want to try it...
But I have a little problem, that perhaps you could help
me solve...? I do not grill...live in an apartment...
Could I follow the steps for grilling...but put
the chicken with the beer can , standing in a
roasting pan in the oven and roast it?...if so, at what temperture
and for how long?...any other tips I would appreciate !

I love this. I do this almost exactly like you with Emerils rub. Daumm is their any better way to eat chicken?? I love the idea of the flavored water. I will try that next time. Great recipe. High 5 ...Jim
