How to make it

  • Fry in deep fat.
  • NOTE: That's the recipe the way I got it. I'd say 4-6 large baking potatoes. Grate the potatoes - mum did this by hand and HATED doing it! Use the food processor grater blad like I do - easy and no scraped knuckles! I also add a little grated onion. Heat oil in a large skillet and drop into oil by tablespoons full. Press flat. Turn and brown on 2nd side. Drain on paper towels & keep warm in oven until all are done.
  • Serve with applesauce & sour cream on the side.
