Ingredients
  • 4 oz. garlic, chopped
  • 4 oz. fresh ginger root, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. canola oil , or as needed

Directions
  1. In a food processor, combine the garlic and ginger.
  2. Pulse to blend, adding small amounts of olive oil to facilitate the blending, until it makes a smooth paste.
  3. Refrigerate or freeze.
  4. Now you can use water.. but it will NOT keep as long..
  5. I have a mini processor.. and it works great for this..
  6. Hope you enjoy..

This is an excellent idea, but can I use olive oil instead? GREAT post!

Great idea!

This sounds great! Just so you know, in case you want to - you can store fresh ginger in the freezer. I just but a little knob, put it in a zip-top bag, pop it in the freezer, and peel and use however much I need.

Thank yoo-what a great combination of flavors. Just a tip for the ginger root. If you buy some at the store, cut a small piece off and place it in a flower pot with potting soil-this will keep your "ginger root" gowing and you can always cut a piece off the top-works the same with horseradish root also. Just a way too keep these awesome flavors close to home.....
