Classic Ceasar Salad

- 2 Bunches of romaine lettuce shopping list
- 4 slices day old bread, cubed (Or Salad croutons) shopping list
- 6 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped shopping list
- 3/4 Cup Fresh grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 1 can anchovies shopping list
- 2 Tbs fresh lemon juice shopping list
- Hot oil for frying shopping list
- fresh ground black pepper shopping list
- Dressing: shopping list
- 1 1/2 Cups mayonnaise shopping list
- 5 anchovies, diced shopping list
- 1/2 glove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 glass red wine shopping list
- 1 tsp worcestershire shopping list
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard shopping list
How to make it
- Wash the lettuce, strain and cut into thin strips, dry and put in salad bowl.
- Dice the bread into cubes and fry in hot oil until done. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil off. (You could use salad croutons of your choice and avoid this step)
- Fry bacon, drain and cut into small bits.
- Mix together all the ingredients for the dressing with a whisk, set aside.
- Add croutons, lemon juice and bacon to the salad bowl.
- Gently mix the salad dressing to the salad, toss slighlty.
- Dust the top with the parmesan cheese (LOTS) and anchovie filets.
- Fresh Ground pepper is also a great addition.
