How to make it

  • Combine rice, cinnamon, raisins, onion and garlic powders, black pepper, salt and water in a medium size saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered for 45 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Sprinkle with toasted almonds.
  • If desired serve with a dallop of plain yogurt on top and with delicious chai tea prepared with milk.
