If you like green olives, this is a quick and easy dip that people will rave about. It's a nice change to vegetable platters from using ranch or blue cheese dips.

Ingredients
  • 5 oz jar green olives (with pimentos)
  • 2 – 8 oz packages cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonaise
  • 1 small onion

Directions
  1. In a food processor, blend the cream cheese and mayonaise with the green olives and a few thin slices of onion (to taste) until smooth. Thin the mixture to your liking by adding some of the juice from the olive jar. You can also adjust the amount of green olives you include to your preference (start with 2/3 jar and add more as taste desires). Serve chilled with chips, crackers or vegetables.

We do one like this without the cream cheese. Put it on hamburgers and cheeseburgers.. I got to try this too. I love olives..

Made this and it was great. Good with celery sticks, crackers or just about anything.. Good post.

Thanks - it's such an easy dip. It's my grandmother's recipe - she used to make this for Christmas gatherings.

I LOVE green olives and this is so easy...
looking for an excuse to make this!...

lol...

It's so easy that if you have unexpected guests, you most likely have the ingredients sitting around - just toss into the food processor and voila! Goes with just about anything for dipping.

Hello friend..

i suggest to replace mayo with sour cream--or LABNEH...
IT;S LIGHTER & HEALTHIER..
what do you think?

I haven't tried it with labneh - I'll have to see how that works. Many times, I just omit the mayonnaise altogether, but for people who want richer, creamier flavor, I'd keep it in. You might try it with just plain yogurt too.

This is one of the first things I ever had at your place. I love this! It's tasty and easy. As a matter of fact, Superbowl Sunday is coming up... I think I'll add it to the menu!

This looks awesome. I have a huge jar of olives and this will be perfect to use them up.

This takes me back to the 50's and cream cheese and olive spread on date and nut bread - that was elegant fare cut into finger sandwiches in those days. Sorry about the geezing.....great recipe!

Looks yummy!

How long does it usually stay fresh for? i would use it every weekend, but i dont want to be making it every week.

Sounds so good my husband is a big green olive fan I know he'll love this one

I'm not sure how long it will stay fresh for since it usually doesn't last more than a week around here, if that. But I would think it would keep for a couple of weeks - I'd probably just omit the mayonnaise just to be sure.
