Ingredients

How to make it

  • Sift flour, soda and salt together in a mixing bowl and add the raisins; toss to coat raisins. Place the seeded orange, cut in chunks, shortening, eggs, sugar, and sour cream in the blender or food processor. Turn on to make puree. Add puree to dry ingredients lightly and quickly. Pour into well greased tube pan and bake in 325 oven for 45 mins. While cake is still hot, pour over it a mix of ½ c orange juice and ½ c icing sugar. (I usually skip this step).

This does sound simple and good. I can't believe you use the WHOLE orange, rind and all! I love coffee cake.
