HEART ATTACK BROWNIES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Peterson Estate in Rockwall, Texas in 1991.

Ingredients
  • 3 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1-1/2 pounds semisweet baking chocolate chopped
  • 2 cups sifted cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2-1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toasted hazelnuts

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Lightly grease a jellyroll pan and line with parchment paper.
  3. Melt butter and chocolate in top of a double boiler over hot water.
  4. Keep warm and set aside.
  5. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt then set aside.
  6. In large mixing bowl combine sugar, eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
  7. Stir until well combined.
  8. Stir in melted butter and chocolate mixture.
  9. Add flour mixture and stir until well combined.
  10. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts then bake 40 minutes.
  11. Cool and cut into bars.
