Ingredients

How to make it

  • Begin heating water; add sugar slowly while stirring. When sugar is dissolved, add pectin and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute; remove from heat. Add thawed grape juice and lemon juice; heat to 175 degrees. Pour into glass jars. Seal.
  • We keep this in frig, and it is gone fast. Grandkids love it.

I have been looking all over for this recipe! I use to make it for my children when they were little and somehow lost it. I needed to teach a class on freezer jams and this is a great one, I was going crazy looking for it. I always made more and then froze it until I needed it. It can freeze for up to 6 weeks. Its the best. Thanks for the post.~

When I saw this recipe I was hoping it was from a juice or concentrate. If it was yours, I felt I could trust it. I'm a farm girl, but now everyone is gone so I can't get my fresh stuff anymore. I used to make all kinds of jell like crazy. There's nothing to it. I can now tell my kids I have a recipe I can trust, and I'll make them some. I do have some black raspberries,(my favorite) but they aren't here to pick them and keep them up for me anymore, so....I tell 'em if you want jell....get back here and take care of them for me!! Thank you so very much! - Linda

I'm going to have to make this and keep on hand for my grandkids. They won't eat any other kind of jelly other than grape.

THis is a wonderful idea. My gramma used to use grape juice in a jar from the store sometimes to try and show me how it could be done. Thank you for this post.. :D

Don't stop with grape juice. We do this with a variety of other juices from the grocery. Just make sure it is all natural juice and not a fruit cocktail. We did a black cherry last week that is a killer. Sure Jell is a powdered pectin brand that really works. Unless you are going to water bath the jars, keep refrigerated. And regardless, sterilize the jars in boiling water. You're right this beats the store-bought stuff.
