Honey Almond Bars

Since I scored a huge jar of fragrant honey from our trip to the hydroponic farm, I've been using a bit of honey in our treats (and in salad dressings and bbq sauce). These bars were the best I've done lately.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup of unsalted butter shopping list
- 1 cup of all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup of honey shopping list
- 1 cup of sliced almonds shopping list
- 1/2 cup of sifted confectioner's sugar shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of salt shopping list
- 2 tsp of lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 tsp of almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of the butter and the confectioner's sugar.
- Stir in flour and salt.
- Pat evenly into an ungreased 9 inch square cake pan.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt remaining butter.
- Stir in honey and lemon juice.
- Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in almonds and almond extract.
- Spread evenly over hot baked layer and return to oven for about 15 minutes until evenly golden brown.
- While hot, cut in squares, allow to cool in pan.
