How to make it

  • =======================================
  • Fry the bacon in a heavy skillet until crisp, drain on paper towels and crumble into small pieces.
  • Remove all but about 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease from the pan and add the chopped green onions, salt, black pepper, sugar, and the crumbled bacon.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup of hot water and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Serve hot.

    Well freakin' DUH! I love green onions, and the way they are cooked in a lot of Asian recipes, but never thought about this! This would be an awesome new twist to top a hamburger steak....Oooooo, then smother with cheese.....Oh my.

    Yum! I can't believe I'm sayin' this, bein' a southerner and havin' men in my life who not only believe everything can, and should, be friend, but a boyfriend who is certain everything is better with bacon, but...i've never done this. I will, soon, though! :) Thanks.
