Chicken Stixs With Bourbon Sauce

- 4 slices of hickory or brown sugar bacon shopping list
- 2 boneless chicken breast, each cut into 6 strips, shopping list
- dark brown sugar shopping list
- olive oil shopping list
- Bayou spice rub(recipe follows) shopping list
- bourbon Sauce(recipe follows) shopping list
- 12 wooden skewers shopping list
- wax paper shopping list
- Bayou spice Rub:(mix all together) shopping list
- 1/2cup dark brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon white pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chili powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon creole seasoning shopping list
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
- dash cracked black pepper shopping list
- bourbon Sauce Ingredients: shopping list
- 4 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup bourbon shopping list
How to make it
- Rub chicken strips with spice rub.
- Saute strips in a small amount of olive oil, browning on each side.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Cut bacon into thirds and place on a plate lined with wax paper.
- Sprinkle bacon with a little brown sugar.
- Cook in microwave for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Remove and let cool a few minutes.
- Wrap each strip of chicken with 1 piece of bacon and thread onto wooden skewer.
- Repeat with remaining chicken and bacon.
- Place on baking sheet lined with wax paper or foil.
- Place in preheated 350 degree oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove and place in serving dish or an plate.
- Make bourbon sauce by melting butter in saucepan.
- Add brown sugar and cook until sugar melts(about 2 to 3 minutes)
- Stir in bourbon and reduce heat to low.
- Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Pour sauce over chicken strips
