Ingredients
  • 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  • 2 Tablespoons shallot, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup half-and-half or cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cut into pieces, at room temperature
  • 4 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 pound crab meat, picked over for shells or Or run some Krab through a food processor
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • French bread cubes or Sour dough french bread

Directions
  1. In a pot over medium heat, gently saute garlic10 and shallots11 briefly in butter until translucent.
  2. Add wine and cook for 1 minute, then add half-and-half, cream cheese, and Cheddar cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and mixture is smooth.
  3. Add crab, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and dill weed. Heat an additional 3 minutes, gently stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve fondue with a side dish, French bread cubes, or Sour dough french bread

Never had fondue but this certainly looks good.


My wife wants me to make this tomorrow as she thinks it looks awesome too. The problem i have is we have no good crab here other than Alaskan king. Would that work too? Or i can also get rock crab claws.
