Fruit Cocktail Cake Recipe
This is a good dessert to make when you only have the basics in the house. My neighbor yrs. ago first made this for a bunco club we were in. WOW

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup fall-purpose flour
  • 1 cup fruit coctail
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup coconut

Directions
  1. Combine the sugar, flour fruit, eggs, and soda until the flour is wet. Pour this into greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
  2. Crumble the mixture of the brown sugar and nuts over the batter.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
  4. Immediately put glaze on the hot cake.
  5. GLAZE: Bring the milk, butter and sugar to a boil. Turn off the heat and add the coconut.
  6. Pour over the the hot cake.
