Pickled Okra

- 2 lbs small okra shopping list
- 5 pods hot green or red pepper shopping list
- 5 cloves garlic shopping list
- Syrup: shopping list
- 1 qt. white vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1 tbls. mustard or celery seed shopping list
- 6 tbls. salt shopping list
How to make it
- Wash okra but do not puncture. Pack in jars. Boil together water, vinegar, salt and seeds. Pour over okra in jars. Add garlic and pepper to each pint jar. Seal. Wait 1 month before eating . This is the sour version can add sugar and or dill If desired . Makes 5 pints.

I have six plants I nursed from seed. It's not nasty as previously stated...it has to be cooked right. I love pickled okra,& fried okra especially how you guys fix it down South. Mine is a North South Hybrid...I will be using your recipe for picklin...more
