- 18 cups flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 4 2/3 cups powdered milk shopping list
- 1 tablespoon salt shopping list
- 2/3 cup baking powder shopping list
- 2 cups shortening shopping list
- 1 cup applesauce (**to cut down on fats used!**:) shopping list
- **may use more shortening (if desired)** shopping list
- 2 sticks butter (NOT margarine) shopping list
How to make it
- In a VERY large pan, stir the dry milk, baking powder, sugar and salt into the flour; mix thoroughly.
- Cut the shortening, butter, and applesauce into the dry ingredients until the MIX is the consistency of corn meal.
- Place the mix in a covered glass or plastic container and keep in refrigerator or freezer! (must be kept DRY also).
- Use within a month from refrigerator or may keep for several months in the freezer.
- To make the biscuits: (makes 8-10 biscuits)

- To measure, pile the MIX lightly into a cup and level off with a spatula or the back of a knife.

- 2 cups of the mix
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Stir in just enough milk or buttermilk to form a soft dough.
- Knead and handle as little as possible.(important!)
- Roll out into floured board and cut into 2 inch rounds.
- Bake for 10-13 minutes.

- Should make about 12 batches (of 8-10 biscuits each)

- MUST be stored carefully in freezer or (1 month) in refrigerator.
- May easily cut recipe in half or thirds.
