Cheesy Beefy Rice Bake

- 1/1/2 lbs ground meat shopping list
- 1 clove garlic shopping list
- 1 cup long grain rice shopping list
- 2 Tbls butter or margarine shopping list
- 3 cups water shopping list
- 1 cup shredded carrot shopping list
- 2 tsp instant beef bouillon granules shopping list
- 1 tsp parsley flakes ( fresh if you can) shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp dried basil shopping list
- 1 package or 2 cups shredded mild cheddar shopping list
- 12 inch skillet shopping list
- 2 quart casserole dish shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 325 degrees
- In 12 in skillet cook meat and garlic till brown
- Drain grease from meat
- Remove meat from pan and set aside
- In same pan cook uncooked rice in margarine or butter till golden brown
- Careful not to burn rice
- Stir in water, carrot, bullion granules, parsley, salt, and basil
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat
- Cover and simmer for 5 min
- Water should be absorbed from mixture
- Stir in meat mixture
- Put everything into 2 quart Casserole dish
- Cover and bake for 45 minutes
- Stir once or twice while cooking
- After 45 minutes is up take foil off
- Stir in 1 cup cheese
- Sprinkle remainder of cheese on top
- Bake uncovered for 5 minutes
- Serve and enjoy

A great make ahead meal. Being single I like to make up these kind of recipes & then separate into individual meals & freeze. Great to take out of the freezer after a busy work day. This sounds like a good one for a tasty fast meal. Thanks. 5 forks
