I was suppose to make this tomorrow but I couldn't wait! So I made it today and I'm glad I did! I made it as written except I only used half the sugar. It was perfect! I only wish I had some ice cream to go with it because that would of been heavenly. The cake part is nice and fluffy with a thin browned top. I will definitely be making this again! Very nice, thank you for posting it. Mom originally made it with more tart cooking apples, probably Winesap or Macintosh so if you use sweeter apples, you don't need as much sugar. I'm glad you liked it.
