My Husbands Favorite Shepherds Pie Recipe

My version of shepherds pie. A classic one dish meal and ultimate comfort food that is also my husbands favorite, hence the name :)

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup frozen green beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/3 cup french fried onions

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Brown ground beef.
  3. When brown, add green beans, salt, onion powder, and tomato sauce.
  4. Let simmer 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer to 1 1/2 quart dish.
  6. Top with mashed potatoes and cheese.
  7. Bake 25 minutes.
  8. Top with french fried onions and bake 5 more minutes.
  9. Enjoy!
