Fudgy Brownies Recipe
This is my sister Valerie's recipe and they are my all-time favorite brownies. Rich, fudgy, and moist! No need for frosting. These are great with chopped nuts as well. This recipe can easily be doubled.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c. plus 2 TBSP. butter (butter only, please!)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 tbsp. cocoa (Dutch-process is excellent in these, but plain is fine, too)
  • 1/2 c. flour (yes, only a 1/2 c.)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts, if desired

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Beat together butter and sugar in a medium bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and eggs.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients until just blended. Do not overmix.
  4. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 30 - 35 minutes or until tests done. Cool; cut into squares to serve.

These sound great. The fudgier the better. Are brownies that aren't fudgey just chocolate cake?
