I don't know why you had a problem with the brownies; every time I've made them and my sister has made them, they have always been heavy and fudgy. Only the butter and sugar should have been beaten until light and fluffy; my recipe states to beat in the vanilla and eggs, meaning that they should only be mixed in until combined. If the eggs were beaten in until the mixture was fluffy again, that would have yielded a more light texture. Perhaps I might also suggest you used too much flour, or overmixed the batter? Some lumps in the batter are okay. I'm sorry you had trouble with the recipe, but it is one that has been made so many times by myself or my family and we've had such consistent results with it, that I am having a hard time believing yours turned out so badly.

I just finished a batch, and though they are delicious, they are definitely NOT fudgy. I wanted to make peppermint brownie bonbons with these, but all the egg made them too fluffy, and not one bit sticky. Good, but not fudgy.

These sound great. The fudgier the better. Are brownies that aren't fudgey just chocolate cake?
